Flashbulb Memories

Sometimes it’s really hard for me

To remember memories from my past

Not that they are blurry

Or hazy overcast

They are parts of me

But hurt too much

Like your smile

And her touch

Or swinging swings

And double dutch

Long drives in the summer

I miss you so much

That house holds many moments

That never leave my brain

They can bring me right to tears

And make me feel insane

Shaving grandpas face

And feeding you your pills

I know when you are with me now

Because I get the chills

The sorrow in my heart

Is like the ocean blue

I can’t help that when I cry

I always think of you

I hold these pieces deep inside

The waves are high

It’s quite the ride

You’re still right here

You

Never

Died.
